Sarah
Soprano Sarah Baxter was born in the Bay Area in California. After completing her Bachelor's degree in singing at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, she studied with Isolde Siebert at the FHNW Hochschule für Musik in Basel and completed her Master's degree in singing with honours. She then completed a master's degree in song interpretation with Jan Schultsz, which she also completed with honours. Sarah Baxter has performed as a soloist with the Basel Symphony Orchestra and the Basel Chamber Orchestra. In 2021, she won first prize in the Basel Orchestra Society competition. She has taken lessons and masterclasses with musicians such as Ludovic Tézier, Sir Thomas Allen, Graham Johnson and François Le Roux, worked with the composer Georges Aperghis on his ‹Rezitationen› and the chamber music work ‹Les Sept Crimes d'amour› and performed at concerts and the International Symposium on his music in 2018. In the 19/20 season, she sang the solo soprano in Sybille Berg's ‹In den Gärten oder Lysistrata Teil 2› with music by Nevena Glušica at Theater Basel. At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein she sang the role of Mimosa in Marius Felix Lange's children's opera 'Die Schneekönigin' in the 17/18 season. She has been a member of the opera chorus at Theater Basel since the 24/25 season.
