Elnile Stage and costumes

Rosie Elnile is an award-winning set and costume designer working between drama, opera and live art. She was an Associate Artist at the Gate Theatre. In 2021 she was awarded a Jerwood Arts Grant to explore scenography as a sole narrative device in a work. Together with fellow designer Milla Clarke, she will be able to continue this research during a residency at Factory International. Rosie runs courses for aspiring set and costume designers, exploring scenography and critical theory. Her work includes: ‹Jason Medea Medley› (Staatsschauspiel, Dresden), ‹Titus Andronicus› (Shakespeare's Globe), ‹Goats and Primetime› (Royal Court Theatre), ‹Paradise Now!› (Bush Theatre), ‹Violet› (Britten Pears Arts), ‹Prayer›, ‹The Ridiculous Darkness›, ‹The Unknown Island› and ‹The Convert› (Gate Theatre), ‹Our Town› (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre), ‹The Wolves› (Theatre Royal Stratford East), ‹The Mysteries› and ‹Drei Schwestern› (Royal Exchange Theatre), ‹Abandon› (Lyric Hammersmith) and ‹Returning to Haifa› (Finborough Theatre). ‹Die Glasmenagerie› is her first work at Theater Basel.
