Robin Gilly, born in 1991, began his acting training at Theatre HORA in 2018, but soon joined the ensemble as a permanent member. After smaller appearances, he had his first major roles in the HORA projects ‹Warten auf: Warten auf Godot› (2020), ‹Planet HORA – der Film› (2021) and above all in ‹Das kranke Haus› (2022), a collaboration between HORA and the vorschlag:hammer collective. In ‹Der kaukasische Kreidekreis› (2023) by Rimini Protokoll/Helgard Haug, he congenially embodied the child around whom everything revolves in this piece. As a performer, he has a great deal of alertness and wit, a talent for improvisation, inventiveness and an almost musical-like dramatic expressiveness. He categorises himself as a ‹poetischer Schauspieler›. At the end of 2023, he realised his first own directorial work as part of the HORA Lab with ‹Anatomie der Welt – Kollektive Zusammenarbeit›. As talented in visual art as he is in juggling words, he is also the wildest thinker in the ensemble, interested in drag, science fashion and Ancient Greece, makes poetry with cut-out words and favours thinking about the theme «It always has a beginning and never an end». In the 25/26 season, he is involved as a co-thinker and co-poet in director Christoph Marthaler's production ‹Gesellschaft mit besonderer Hingabe (GmbH)›.
