Rachelle Anaïs Scott is a French-American dancer and choreographer from New York City. She received her dance training from the Alvin Ailey School and the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music, Art & the Performing Arts in NYC and holds a BFA from The Juilliard School. She has danced with companies such as Cedar Lake Contemporary Company in New York City, the ballet at the State Theatre in Nuremberg (Goyo Montero), Ballet Basel (Richard Wherlock) and the Hofesh Shechter Company. During her dance career, she has performed works by Hofesh Shechter, Sharon Eyal, Alexander Ekman, Richard Wherlock, Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Andonis Foniadakis, Goyo Montero, Johan Inger, Jiří Kylián, among others. She is a holder of the Princess Grace Award and the Bavarian Art Prize. She initially created her own works for companies in Nuremberg and Basel. Her works have been shown at NUTIDA and Blois Danse and have received awards from Dare 2 Dance and Mannheim Arts & Film. Her previous projects include a collaboration between visual arts and dance with the Kunstmuseum Basel for the Picasso/El Greco exhibition and Orsolina 28. Her duet ‹Us› was shown at the Hannover Choreography Competition. She is developing dance pieces for the Nederlands Dans Theater 2's ‹NDT2’s Up & Coming Choreographers› programme (2026), as a NEXT STEPS choreographer for the dance company in St. Gallen (2025) and the Bern Ballet (2026). Since the 25/26 season Rachelle Anaïs Scott is again member of Ballett Basel under the artistic direction of Marco Goecke.
