The German bass Patrick Zielke completed his vocal studies at the Stuttgart University of Music, attended masterclasses with Francisco Araiza, Rudolf Piernay and Harald Stamm and was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Society Stuttgart. He won the Concours Ernst Haefliger 2012 and the Richard Wagner Competition. He was awarded the Faust Prize in 2020 for his portrayal of Ochs auf Lerchenau ('Der Rosenkavalier') at Bremen Theatre. From 2011 to 2013, he was a member of the ensemble at Lucerne Theatre, where his roles included Sarastro ('Die Zauberflöte') and Don Magnifico ('La Cenerentola'). He was then a member of the soloist ensemble at Bremen Theatre from 2013 to 2017. There he sang the Wagner roles of Daland ('Der fiegende Holländer') and Kothner ('Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg') as well as Dulcamara in 'L'elisir d'amore'. He attracted great attention with his role debut as Gurnemanz in 'Parsifal' and as Gianni Schicchi. At the beginning of the 17/18 season, he moved to Mannheim as a permanent member of the ensemble, where he made a highly acclaimed role debut as Baron Ochs auf Lerchenau and as Rocco in 'Fidelio' and Landgraf in 'Tannhäuser'. He has already appeared as Sarastro ('Die Zauberflöte') at the Theater Basel and played Hagen in Wagner's 'Götterdämmerung' in 24/25.
