Olivier
Olivier Gourdy, bass, began playing double bass and piano at a young age. Parallel to his business studies, he discovered his passion for singing. In 2016, he entered the Paris Conservatoire, where he completed his vocal studies in June 2022. Olivier Gourdy gained his first experience in opera at the Opera Fuoco opera studio, which he joined in 2017. There he took part in numerous productions under the direction of David Stern. In the 2021/22 season, he appeared at the Festival de la Grange aux Pianos as Figaro ('Le nozze di Figaro') and then took part in the Beijing Festival as Elviro ('Serse'). He appeared at the Paris Philharmonie as Astradamors (Ligeti's 'Le Grand Macabre'). In 2021, he sang the role of Boris (Johann Mattheson's 'Boris Godunov') at the Innsbruck Early Music Festival and took part in the world premiere of Martha Gentillucci's opera 'Moving Still' at the Venice Biennale. He was recently heard as Astradamors at the Auditorium de Radio France with the Orchestre National de France under the direction of François-Xavier Roth and sang Sarastro ('Die Zauberflöte') at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées as well as in Tourcoing, Reims and Bordeaux in a production by Julie Depardieu. His current roles include Zuniga ('Carmen') at the Lausanne Opera and Pluton (Lully's 'Proserpine') on tour with Les Talens Lyriques. He will be a member of OperAvenir at Theater Basel from the 2024/25 season.
