Ballet direction
Nadja Kadel studied cultural management in Germany and the USA and has been involved in dance for many years. Since 2004, she has worked continuously with choreographer Marco Goecke, cooperates with numerous dance professionals through her artist management agency, and represents the rights to the choreographies of Uwe Scholz. She also works as a dance dramaturge (Stuttgart Ballet, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Royal Ballet of Flanders, Leipzig Ballet, Ballet da Cidade São Paulo, Dortmund Ballet, Introdans Arnhem, Portuguese National Ballet, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Staatsballett Berlin, Nederlands Dans Theater, Gauthier Dance Company), as a dance consultant (including 2006-2009 Festspielhaus Baden-Baden) and curator of international ballet galas, as well as an editor (including Cornelsen Verlag) and author. In January 2013, she conceived and edited the book ‹Uwe Scholz. Zeitsprünge› ‹Uwe Scholz. Zeitsprünge›, and in March 2016, Königshausen & Neumann published her book ‹Dark Matter› about selected choreographers by Marco Goecke. She has been part of the management team at Ballett Basel since the 2025–2026 season.
