Marvin Ott has been designing sets and costumes for theatre, opera and dance since 2017. He was born in Heilbronn, studied scenography at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts and assisted at the Hanover State Opera. Marvin Ott's work has so far been seen at the Opera Stabile of the Hamburg State Opera, the Braunschweig State Theatre, the Hanover State Opera, the Landungsbrücken Theatre in Frankfurt, the Riga National Opera, the Bremerhaven City Theatre, the Coburg State Theatre, the Anhalt Theatre in Dessau and the Bielefeld Theatre. Ott works closely with the directors Kornelius Eich and Nick Westbrock. Marvin Ott worked with choreographer Marco Goecke on the costumes for ‹Der Liebhaber› and the set for ‹A Wilde Story› at the Hanover State Opera as well as ‹Nijinski› in the new production for the Latvian National Ballet in Riga. Ott made guest appearances at the Coburg State Theatre in 2023 for the set design of ‹Der Zauberer von Oz› (director: Matthias Straub) and ‹Hänsel und Gretel› (director: Neil Barry Moss). In 2023 and 2024, he was responsible for the overall set and design of the opera balls ‹Bésame Mucho› and ‹Let the Sunshine In› at the Hanover State Opera. At the Bielefeld Theatre, Marvin Ott designed the sets for ‹The Convert› and for ‹Pippi Langstrumpf›, both directed by Nick Westbrock, as well as for ‹Wolf› (director: Nadja Loschky). In 2025, Marvin Ott designed the costume design for Marco Goecke's new creation ‹Le Sacre du Printemps› at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich.
