Lucas
Lucas van Lierop studied at Yale University and was a member of the opera studio at the Dutch National Opera from 2018 to 2020. Since then, he has sung in the male chorus in Britten's 'The Rape of Lucretia', Paulino in 'Il matrimonio segreto', Henry the Scribe in 'Tannhäuser', Basilio in 'Le nozze di Figaro' and Spoletta in 'Tosca', among others. Guest engagements have taken him to the Nederlandse Reisopera as the Tour Guide and Frank Lippencott in 'Wonderful Town' and as the Fourth Judge in 'Das Wunder der Heliane', as well as to the Concertgebouw as the Prince in 'Die Schneekönigin' under the direction of Kent Nagano. The tenor has taken part in masterclasses with Thomas Alan (SongFest), Graham Johnson (Vancouver International Song Institute) and Andreas Scholl (Festival Sablé), as well as the Bachakademie Stuttgart and the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme in Aldeburgh. He was a winner of the Canadian "Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques" and was a semi-finalist in the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition in 2017. He recently sang Monostatos ('Die Zauberflöte') at the Dutch Opera and Ein junger Diener ('Elektra') at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden.
