Katrin Wittig is a stage and costume designer for drama, dance, and musical theater. She often creates spatial stages that address the feedback loops of the characters and encourage self-reflection. She has collaborated on many productions with Sebastian Schug, Benedikt von Peter, and the artistic director and dramaturge Berthold Schneider, as well as with Eva Baumann in dance theater. She is a founding member of Futur II Konjunktiv and Jetzt!Jetzt!Trafo GbR, works in her own format Stadt und Zukunft (City and Future), is part of the artist collective Weile.KunstundKlima.org, and is co-founder of wassertanke.org. She is also a board member of the Kostümkollektiv, which is organized at the Haus der Materialisierung Berlin and the Verband der IfM. She has realized works in various locations such as Heidelberg, Hanover, Bremen, Basel, Bern, Wuppertal, Kassel, Dresden, at the Cité de la musique Paris, the Sophiensäle, the Theaterdiscounter, and the Volksbühne Berlin. Her productions include ‹Gespenster›, ‹Solo für Carlos und Sigmund›, ‹Baal›, ‹Mysterium Buffo›, ‹Bundesrepublik Nashville›, ‹Außer Atem›, ‹Idioten›, ‹Werther.Phantome›, ‹ANTIgone›, ‹La Bohème›, ‹Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg›, ‹Intolleranza 1960›, ‹Surrogate Cities/Götterdämmerung›, ‹Becoming Maria C.›, and ‹Play*Europeras 1&2› (Rimini Protokoll).
