After training in dance, Katinka Deecke studied French literature and theatre studies in Paris. She then went to Frankfurt/Main for a Master's degree and worked there at the University of Music and Performing Arts. In 2010, she moved to Berlin to work as production manager for the international art project '80*81' by Georg Diez and Christopher Roth. From 2012 to 2015, she worked as an opera dramaturge at the Bremen Theatre under the directorship of Michael Börgerding, where she collaborated with Anna-Sophie Mahler, Benedikt von Peter and Gintersdorfer/Klaßen, among others. In 2015, she moved with Benjamin von Blomberg from Bremen to Matthias Lilienthal's Münchner Kammerspiele theatre, where she began her close collaboration with Christopher Rüping and Trajal Harrell, among others. In the same role, she was involved in Stefanie Carp's first Ruhrtriennale in 2018, as well as freelancing at the Stuttgart Opera, MC93 in Paris, the Manchester International Festival and the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne. From 2019 to 2024, she was Head Dramaturg at Schauspielhaus Zürich during the directorship of Benjamin von Blomberg and Nicolas Stemann.
