Justine Bougerol grew up in France. She now lives and works between Brussels and Paris. She works both as a scenographer and as a visual artist. After presenting her first monographic exhibition at MusVerre in Justine September 2019, Justine Bougerol also organised an exhibition at CENTRALE.Lab in Brussels in September 2020. Her work has also been shown in group exhibitions in various galleries in Marseille, Paris and Brussels. In 2018, she designed an in-situ installation for the Kikk Festival in Namur. After graduating from the École Nationale Supérieure de La Cambre in 2014, she discovered her passion for Pina Bausch's dance theatre in Brussels, which many Belgian choreographers regard as a point of reference. In addition to her collaboration with Belgian and French choreographers and directors, Justine Bougerol is responsible for the scenography of three creations by the Belgian company Peeping Tom: 'The Lost Room' and 'The Hidden Floor', which were commissioned by the Nederland Dans Theater in The Hague, and 'Kind', which premiered at KVS in Brussels in 2019. Her collaboration with this company continued with the creation of the scenography for the opera 'Dido and Aeneas' at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
