Julia Nussbaumer, born in Basel in 1990, studied scenography at Zurich University of the Arts and stage design at University of Applied Arts in Vienna. This was followed by assistantships in stage and costume design at Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna and at Staatstheater Stuttgart for Junge Oper. Since 2016 she has been working as a freelance stage and costume designer with numerous directors, such as Pia Richter, Bonn Park and Clara Weyde and groups like What You See Is What You Get. In her ongoing collaboration with Pia Richter and Bonn Park, Julia has designed stages and costumes for Theater Bielefeld, the ETA Hoffmann Theater Bamberg, Schauspiel Leipzig, Beogradsko dramsko pozorište / Belgrade Playhouse and the National Theatre Seoul.
