The Mainz-based singer and actress Julia Klotz completed her training at the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre. During her studies, she already appeared as Mary Magdalene in 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and as Hope Harcourt in 'Anything Goes' at the Nordhausen Theatre. In 2005, she won the German Theatre Association's prize for "Best Performance of a Musical Scene" at the German National Singing Competition. She was then a member of the acting ensemble at Heilbronn Theatre for two years. There she received the 'Kilian' audience award in 2007 for the role of Norma Cassidy in 'Victor/Victoria'. Since then, she has made guest appearances in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as Eliza in 'My Fair Lady' (Landestheater Linz, Theater Basel, Bad Hersfelder Festspiele), Bianca/Loise in 'Kiss me Kate' (Hanover State Opera), 'Sweet Charity' (Theater Heilbronn/Staatstheater Wiesbaden) and as Charlotte Malcolm in 'Smile of a Summer Night' (Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz). She has already appeared in over ten world premieres, including 'Drei Männer im Schnee' at the Gärtnerplatztheater and 'Hammerfrauen' at the Wühlmäusen Berlin. For her role as Madame de Tourvel in 'Gefährliche Liebschaften' in Munich, she was awarded the first German Musical Theatre Prize for "Best Leading Actress" in 2015. She recently appeared in 'Born to be wild?' and in the solo show 'HAPPY END - Von nun an geht's bergab?' at Heilbronn Theatre. Next year will see her cinema film debut as the mother's mother in Susanne Heinrich's musical comedy 'Die miserable Mutter'.
