Javier Rodríguez Cobos began his dance education at Real Conservatorio Professional de Danza de Madrid to then start his career as a profesional dancer in Compañia Nacional de Danza, Madrid, under the direction of Nacho Duato. He continued his path in Ballet de L’Opera National du Rhin in Mulhouse, follow by two years at Introdans in Arnhem. Since 2008 Javier is part of the ensemble of Ballett Theater Basel. During this time he has enriched his movement and creative work with a big variety of choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Jirí Kylián, Hofesh Schechter, Sharon Eyal, Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, Angelin Preljoçaj, Bryan Arias and Richard Wherlock. Javier has a great interest for choreography, he has created several short pieces at Theater Basel for the program Dance Lab, as well as choreographed and performed in the theatre play ‹Das Ende von Eddy› in 2017. He was commissioned to create pieces for Landesmuseum Zürich and Kunstmuseum Basel. Since 2015 he is part of the Verein Loop Tanz where he often presents his work at Neuetsheater Dornach.
