The set and costume designer Herbert Murauer is a regular guest at the Frankfurt Opera and has realised ‹Wozzeck›, ‹Die Entführung aus dem Serail›, ‹La fanciulla del West› and ‹Die Fledermaus› with Christof Loy, among others. Herbert Murauer also designed the stage set for ‹Giulio Cesare in Egitto› in Frankfurt, staged by Johannes Erath. He was responsible for the costume design for his ‹La traviata› at the Hamburg State Opera and as set designer for ‹Die tote Stadt› at the Graz Opera. Other recent stage designs include ‹Der Barbier von Sevilla› at Den Norske Opera in Oslo, Leoncavallo›s ‹Zazà› at the Theater an der Wien, ‹Carmen› at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, Legrenzi's ‹La divisione del mondo› at the Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg, Mozart's ‹Lucio Silla› at the Theater Basel and Giordano's ‹Fedora› at the Royal Opera House in Stockholm. His work has also been seen at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Nationale Opera Amsterdam, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, the Grand Théâtre in Geneva, Los Angeles Opera, the Korean National Opera in Seoul and the Glyndebourne Festival.
