Geraldine Arnold studied art history in Cologne and costume design with Dirk von Bodisco and Reinhart von der Thannen in Hamburg.Since then she has worked as a freelance costume designer for theater, opera, film and media. Her work has taken her to the Deutsche Theater Berlin, Theater Oberhausen, Theater Heidelberg, Staatstheater Mainz, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schauspiel Köln, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Staatstheater Kassel, Theater Augsburg, Luzerner Theater and the Staatsoper Hannover, among others.For her costumes for ‹Eugen Onegin›, she was nominated as Costume Designer of the Year 2009 in the Opernwelt critics' poll.She has worked closely with Benedikt von Peter on productions including ‹Intolleranza 1960›, ‹La traviata› and ‹Don Giovanni›, all at the Hanover State Opera.She designed stage and costumes for director Lilja Rupprecht for productions including ‹Iwanow› at the Theater in Lübeck and ‹Werther› at the Staatstheater Hannover.At Theater Bremen, she designed the set for Benedikt von Peter's production of ‹Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny›, which can be seen at Theater Basel in the 25/26 season.
