Winter Actress

Gala Othero Winter, born in Hesse in 1991, studied acting at the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg. She began her first engagement at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg during her studies. During this time, she worked with directors such as Katie Mitchell, Johan Simons, Karin Henkel, Victor Bodo, Christoph Marthaler, Herbert Fritsch, Simon Stone, Karin Beier, Jens Rachut and Paulina Neukampf.
She was honoured with the Alfred Kerr Acting Award in Berlin in 2015 for her role as Frieda Foldal in Karin Henkel's production of ‹John Gabriel Borkman›. In 2016, she received the Körber Foundation's Boy Gobert Prize. Gala Othero Winter has been a permanent member of the Theater Basel ensemble since the 20/21 season.
