Eurudike De Beul is a singer, director, author, sound artist and visual artist. After studying social sciences and a master's degree in biomedical sciences, she began studying at the conservatories of Liège and Mons, after which she was awarded the Guns Defrêne Prize. She received further inspiration from Kammersängerin Ute Treckel Bruckhardt in Berlin and completed internships with Mark Deller, Michaël Chance and Zeger Vandersteene. On the opera stage she has sung Azucena ('Il trovatore'), Giovanna ('Rigoletto'), Miss Quickly ('Falstaff'), Messaghiera ('L'Orfeo') and Clytaemnestra ('Elektra'), among others. In 2003 she was selected for the choir of the Bayreuth Festival. Her collaboration with Alain Platel opened up new perspectives on theatre and resulted in projects with directors such as Theu Boerman, David Miller, Judith Vindevogel, François de Carpenterie and Dagmar Pischel, Cathy Boyd, Josse De Pauw and Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe. In 2000, her project 'St Kilda' was selected for the Year of the Artist and she became a founding member of the collective Peeping Tom. For the ensemble she created 'Caravana', 'Une Vie Inutile', '32 Rue Vandenbranden', 'A Louer', 'The Land', the family trilogy 'Vader', 'Moeder' and 'Kind' as well as 'Dido and Aeneas' and 'La Visita'. With her non-profit organisation KoudVuur (2005) and as artist in residence at Walpurgis, she staged and created experimental performances, solos and compositions.
