Soprano Emily Jane Dilewski studied singing at the Folkwang University of the Arts with Professor Robins. Since then, she has appeared in several opera productions, including as Sandmännchen, Taumännchen and Gretel in 'Hänsel und Gretel', as Papagena in 'Die Zauberflöte' and as Barbarina in 'Le nozze di Figaro' under the direction of Georg Rootering, in productions by Ben J. Riepe as part of the Favoriten Festival Ruhr and the NRW Dance Festival, in the world premiere of the chamber opera 'Starbuck' under the direction of Achim Lenz and as a soloist at the Ruhrtriennale. She also appeared in a production of 'Orestie' at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus under the direction of Simon Solberg. Participation in masterclasses with Helen Donath, Linda Watson, Martin Wölfel, Janet Williams, Ingeborg Danz, Olaf Bär and Anja Harteros also shaped her musical training.
Emily Jane Dilewski was a scholarship holder of the Werner Richard - Dr Carl Dörken Foundation, the Deutschland Stipendium and the Richard Wagner Association Dortmund. She has been a soprano in the Basel Theatre Chorus since August 2021. At Theater Basel she sang the solo soprano in Philip Glass' 'Einstein On The Beach' with guest performances in Vienna and Berlin. This season, she sings this role at the Festival d'Automne in Paris and can be seen as Virginie in the world premiere of 'Pferd frisst Hut' by Herbert Fritsch and Herbert Grönemeyer.
