Elena Marieke
Gester Actress

Elena Marieke Gester was born in Berlin in 1997. She grew up in the German capital and loves Müggelsee lake. After leaving school in 2016, she joined a free performance collective in Berlin, with whom she was involved in various projects for almost three years. During this period, she kept her head above water with an array of part-time jobs, studied social sciences and European ethnology besides working as a kindergarten teacher. In the spring of 2020, Marieke began studying drama in Bern, where she presented her bachelor's degree project ‹le petit moir de la prune› with fellow student Robi Tissi Graf in June 2022. Furthermore, she was part of the HKB productions ‹Schlachten› by Rainald Goetz with Nola Friedrich, Antoinette Ullrich and Robi Tissi Graf and the jointly developed project ‹Testimonials› with Paul Furtwängler and Stephan Lichtensteiger. In the 2022/23 season, Marieke will be part of the HKB acting studio at Theater Basel.
