Elena Manzo was born in Mexico City in 1984 and studied drama and literature at ‹La Casa del Teatro› university. This was followed by a Master's degree in scenic writing at Centro Cultural Borges in Buenos Aires. She has worked as an actor, dramaturge and drama educator at theatres in Mexico, Argentina, Germany and Switzerland. Over the years, Elena has collaborated with numerous directors, including Carlos Corona (‹Tartufo›, Unam), Mariana Villegas (‹Voralpendland› at Festival Theaterwelt) Lofti Mansouri (‹Viva Verdi›, Zürich) Nurkan Erpulat (‹Entertaining Mr. Sloan› at Maxim Gorki Theater, Berlin), Antú Romero Nunes (‹N'haufen Kohle› at Maxim Gorki Theater, Berlin) and Fabian Gerhardt (‹Othello› at Theaterdiscounter, Berlin). As a screenwriter, she has developed works for various streaming platforms and production companies, including Buendía Estudios, Spain, Sony Teleset, Mexico and Komplizen Film, Germany. Elena currently lives in Berlin and works as a script analyst developing pitches and original content, writing series for Universal Studios and is part of the Film Council of Europe's ‹Eurimages Experts 2023› programme.
