Spanish baritone David Oller began his musical career as a pianist and composer before studying singing at the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid. He gained his first stage experience with roles such as Belcore in ‹L’elisir d’amore› and L'horloge comtoise in Ravel's ‹L'enfant et les sortilèges› and became a member of the opera studio of the Opéra national du Rhin in 2013, where he took part in productions such as ‹Aladino e la lampada magica›, ‹Il campanello di notte›, ‹Le pauvre Matelot›, ‹La bella dormente nel bosco›, ‹Il matrimonio segreto› and ‹Ariane et Barbe-Bleue›. He made his debut at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in 2016 in the world premiere of ‹María Moliner› and has since been engaged at theaters and festivals such as the Teatro Real, Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Festival Ticino Musica and Festival Rossini in Wildbad. His repertoire now includes operas such as ‹Così fan tutte›, ‹Marina›, ‹Andrea Chénier›, ‹Der Barbier von Sevilla›, ‹Capriccio›, ‹L'heure espagnole›, ‹Les mamelles de Tirésias›, ‹Tabaré› and ‹Rusalka›. He recently appeared as Marchese d'Obigny in ‹La traviata› at the Ópera de Oviedo and as Silvano/Christiano in ‹Un ballo in maschera› at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. In ‹Turandot› he can be seen for the first time at Theater Basel in the role of the Grand Chancellor Ping and sings the title character in ‹El barberillo de Lavapiés› in the 25/26 season.
