Lommatzsch Actor

Daniel Lommatzsch, born in Hamburg in 1977, studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin from 1998. His first permanent engagement was under the directorship of Christoph Marthaler at the Schauspielhaus Zürich. Zurich was followed by engagements at the Staatstheater Hannover and the Thalia Theatre Hamburg. He has also worked as a freelance actor with Stefan Pucher, Jette Steckel, Jan Bosse, Wilfried Minks, Nuran David Calis, Antu Numero Nunes and Nicolas Stemann, with whom he is now returning to Zurich. Although Daniel Lommatzsch continues to play television and film roles (in the film ‹Der Baader Meinhof Komplex›, for example, he played the RAF terrorist Christian Klar), the focus of his artistic work remains on theatre. Daniel Lommatzsch also works as an author and director, for example, he realised his first feature film ‹Am Ende ist man tot› with almost the entire ensemble of the Thalia Theater Hamburg, which was released in cinemas in 2018. He is currently working on the screenplay for his next film. In the 25/26 season, he can be seen in ‹Biedermann und die Brandstifter›.
