Anne
Anne Haug, born in Basel, studied acting at the University of the Arts in Berlin. During her studies, she appeared in various productions at the Deutsches Theater and the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin. There she worked with René Pollesch and Viktor Bodó, among others. After an engagement at the Theaterhaus Jena, she has been working as an actress and author for theatre and film in Germany and Switzerland since 2011.
She has long-standing working relationships with Antú Romero Nunes, Nora Abdel-Maksoud and Sarah Blaßkiewitz, among others. After playing the lead role in Isabell Šuba's award-winning feature film 'Männer zeigen Filme Frauen ihre Brüste', she now works in film and television throughout the German-speaking world. She was most recently seen in the Amazon series 'Luden'. Anne Haug writes for theatre and as a screenwriter for cinema, TV and the web. Her serial late-night show 'Projekt Schooriil' was invited to Burning Issues as part of the Theatertreffen in 2019. In the same year, she co-wrote her first play 'Neverland' with Antú Romero Nunes for the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg.
From 2020 to 2023, Anne Haug was an ensemble member of the Basler Compagnie. As an in-house author, she wrote the play 'MILF' as part of Stück Labor in the 20/21 season, for which she was awarded the Schiller Memorial Prize. She has been working freelance at Theater Basel since the 23/24 season and can be seen in the current season in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', which was invited to the 2023 Berlin Theatertreffen, and in the new production 'Empusion', based on the novel by Olga Tokarczuk.
