Andrea Gabriel is a live camera operator and video artist at the Burgtheater and the founder of STUDIO GABRIEL, a digital media and e-casting service in Vienna. Before working at the Burgtheater, Andrea completed her Bachelor of Arts in Content Production and Digital Media Management at the University of Applied Sciences Vienna. She completed a semester abroad in film production at the University of La Verne, and started her Master's degree in Digital Media Production at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten in 2018. In 2018, she was employed for the first time at the Burgtheater as an assistant editor for the production ‹Etwas kommt mir bekannt vor›. In the same year she was hired as a live camerawoman for ‹Medea› at the Burgtheater. In September 2019 she was hired as a video designer and social media manager for ‹theblondproject›, a play by Gesine Danckwart & Caroline Peters, which was performed at the Kasino am Schwarzenbergplatz, a venue of the Burgtheater. In 2020 Andrea founded her own company, a digital media and e-casting service called STUDIO GABRIEL, taking into account the new Corona situation. Her first productions include three episodes of the Nestroy-nominated series ‹Wiener Stimmung› from the Burgtheater. Since 2018 she has worked as a live camerawoman and video artist on several productions at the Burgtheater, including ‹Medea› (Stone, 2018-today), ‹theblondproject› (Danckwart, Peters, 2019), ‹Die Maschine in Mir Version 1.0› (Dead Centre, 2020-today), ‹Die Traumdeutung› (Dead Centre, 2020), ‹Alles, was der Fall ist› (Dead Centre, 2021) and ‹Zdenek Adamec› (Castorf, 2021), ‹Die Maschine steht nicht still› (Wiener Festwochen 2022 Ledwald, Caroline Peters). For the Theater Basel she is working on the production ‹1984› together with the Trio ACE where she is active as a video artist.
