Alex Fernandes is a lighting designer for contemporary theatre and performance and was awarded the Michael Northen Bursary in 2013. His work includes ‹DOMESTICA› (Battersea Arts Centre), ‹Swimming Pools› (Teatro de la Abadia), ‹Double Double Act› (Unicorn Theatre), ‹Système AI› (Sadler's Wells), ‹Minor Planets› (HAU Berlin), ‹Kim Kardashian› (Balé da Cidade de Palmas, Brazil), ‹Heartbreaking Final› (Wiener Festwochen and Centre Pompidou), ‹Two Billion Beats› (Orange Tree Theatre), ‹Paradise Now!› (Bush Theatre), ‹l'Addition› (Avignon International Festival), ‹A View from the Bridge› (Bolton Octagon, Chichester Festival Theatre, Rose Theatre Kingston), ‹The Beginning› (Staatstheater Mainz), ‹Ghosts of the Near Future› (Barbican Centre). Between 2013 and 2016 he was Technical Director of Forest Fringe and is currently Technical Tour Manager for Forced Entertainment. ‹Die Glasmenagerie› is his first work at Theater Basel.
