Falling. From the stairs or from grace.
The works of choreographer Tilman O'Donnell transcend genre boundaries. Between choreographic sculpture, art in motion, dynamic object sculpture and kinetic composition, dancers change the perception of people, relationships and space through their versatile orientation.
Archetypes become material, objects become figures. Bodies measure spaces and relationships differently. O'Donnell's choreographies are characterized by precision, subtle humour and playfulness.
For this commissioned choreography, the German-American takes up the seasonal theme of love and develops a piece about the act of falling. Inspired by the body morphology of sculptor Erwin Wurm, pop and video art and the movement principles of dance pioneer Steve Paxton, O'Donnell creates a piece about falling - in life, in love and beyond.
Together with the dramaturgy department, the Basel Kulturhaus Bider & Tanner has been curating the book table for our plays for many years. Now this selection of books, CDs, DVDs, catalogues and sheet music is available at any time in the online shop. It's worth browsing regularly.
