Exklusive for Everyone
«Exclusive for Everyone» is aimed at everyone living in the city of Basel and the surrounding countryside, irrespective of their theatrical experience, nationality, level of education, religion or age. Over three seasons the project under the artistic leadership of the director Tom Ryser («Jesus Christ Superstar») has provided a range of opportunities – also for newcomers – to contribute their individual skills and discovered or undiscovered talents. Participation in the project is open to people of all age groups and opinions – regardless of prior experience. In encounters with professional artists they will explore the full range of theatrical activities. The resulting melodies, rhythms, dances, drawings, costumes, masks, ideas, life stories and visions will gradually give shape to a play that will be performed on the main stage at the end of three seasons of meetings and workshops.
Now in its second year, newcomers are very welcome! Places are available in the following workshops:
Creation, modelling and materials of stage design. For people who are interested in space, architecture, art and craft work with a range of materials.
Falling, kicking, hitting: realistic stage fights without the danger of injury.
A storytelling game in which lots of stories are turned into one larger narrative. The minimum contribution is one true story.
Realise your own dream costume on stage.
Make people age, give them scars or diseases using make-up, wigs and masks. Style fantasy images or looks from other centuries.
POETRY SLAM/SPOKEN WORD
Put stories, experiences and objects into emotive words and perform them live.
Think of melodies, punchlines, rhythms, lyrics and chords to put on stage and perform them collectively.
JAZZ DANCE AND BALLET
Train your muscles, posture and co-ordination so you can use your body to express your ideas.
Graphic testimony created from personal observation of the individual workshops will accompany the project.
Previous experience is not required, in keeping with Joseph Beuys’ principle: «Every person is an artist».
Participation is free of charge.
